WHEN AND WHY DID YOU START GRAPHIC GARDEN?

We purchased our first computer in spring -97. (Still in use for making CDs. The one I use for drawing isn't much newer, but it works great.) For half a year it sat there on my desk, untouched. Lars, my fiancé, figured it was the best place, so that I would want to learn how to use it. Wonder if he regrets that now..? :-D Finally, because of school, I began to realize that I needed the internet, so we bought a modem in September.

Only a few weeks later I wanted a website of my own. Lars had created one already at work, so he gave me a sample HTML file and a bunch of HTML tutorial printouts. 'Have a look at this while I'm away.' he said and left to do some errands.

When he returned home 4 hours later, I could, more than a little proud of myself, show him my very first website! It sure was no masterpiece, but I had learned the basics. Learning HTML isn't any harder than that! Patience, some peace and quiet and some samples to look at is all it takes.
